Biography



The spanish conductor Laura Pérez Soria studied Orchestral Conducting at the Conservatory of Vienna with Maestros Reinhard Schwarz and Georg Mark. She successfully obtained her degree with Honours and made her début appearance as a conductor in Vienna at the Radio Kulturhaus in 2004, where she conducted the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.


In 2011 she conducted her first opera Mozart´s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Festival Oper Klosterneuburg in Austria. Within the same festival she conducted in 2018 Verdi´s Messa da Requiem.


Laura Pérez Soria has conducted among others the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven Philharmonie, Orchestra Di Roma, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Zaragoza, Ensemble Neue Streicher, First Women's Chamber Orchestra of Austria, Wiener Tonkunstvereinigung Orchestra and Sinfonia Academica Wien. Upcoming dates as guest conductor with the Orquesta Sinfónica Región de Murcia, as well as the New Year's Concert 2022/23 at Auditorio de Zaragoza, Spain.


Her wide choral-symphonic repertoire covers Verdi´s Messa da Requiem, Orff´s Carmina Burana, Brahms´ Ein deutsches Requiem Op. 45, Haydn´s The Creation, Mozart´s Requiem KV 626 and Krönungsmesse KV 317, Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 2 "Lobgesang", Rossini´s Stabat Mater, etc.

In 2011 she conducted the First Women's Chamber Orchestra of Austria in the most famous concerthalls in Spain (Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Auditorio de Zaragoza, Auditorio Baluarte de Pamplona, etc).


In Spain she studied the Bachelor's degree in Piano at the Conservatory of Music of Zaragoza and was awarded her final diploma with distinction in 1995. She rounded off her pianistic education under the guiadance of Albert G. Atenelle in Barcelona and furthermore at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest (Hungary).


She studied the Instrumental Music Pedagogy (Instrumental- Gesangspädagogik) degree at the Conservatory of Vienna with Julika Behar and in 2000 obtained her diploma with honours.


She attended Masterclasses as a conductor with Maestro Bertrand de Billy and as a pianist with Karl Engel, Gyorgy Sébok and Joaquín Achúcarro.


From 2006 till 2019 she was music director of the Chor und Orchester der Wiener Tonkunstvereinigung in Vienna.
